With vendors selling everything from car needs to incense and ice creams to beers,
it’s a wonder people still remember all of the nice cars that are on display. Jak’d Up Kustoms have a few of their jacked up custom cars out, including a modified VW Super Beetle, that sits so low to the ground, I don’t think even a sheet of paper could fit under it!
The Neely Family of Yuma said they were ready to party tonight at the Survivor and Loverboy concert that will begin around 7 p.m. Sitting under some Canopy Chairs, they looked very relaxed as they ate their ice cream sundaes hurriedly before the sun got to them.
I think most Yumans who came out today or last night, even tomorrow, will appreciate the security throught this event. Patrolmen rode on bikes along the fields, keeping things in line, which is always a good thing.
I estimate at least a few thousand people are here right now, and even in one of the hottest days of the year-thus far- people are still friendly and thoughtful. A little girl dropped her toy she had just got, an inflatable hammer, and didn’t seem to notice. Until a nice man picked it up and handed it to her. Those little things I think is what Yuma such a great community to live in.
And, with the weather cooling a bit as the afternoon progesses closer to the evening, I anticipate those who are leaving the day events will wish they could come again tonight for the show. Blogging near home plate from Desert Sun Stadium,
